Hello! This is a little update regarding Renascent Blood.

First off, I wish to apologize for the lack of updates. I honestly can't believe it's been so long since I first published the game. 

During the jam I tried doing all I could myself, as I wanted to keep the number of team members limited. I used a not-ideal game engine and at the end, the game was rushed. 

I still wish to implement the full list of features I originally stated, such as: Lengthier Routes, More CGs, Multiple Endings, etc. 

In order to achieve this, some things need to happen first:

• Sensitivity Readers

The game has a heavy focus on mental health, especially health pertaining to People of Color. Sensitivity Readers are essential to ensuring the story is told as accurately as possible.

• Develop the Characters

Since the project ended up being rushed, I didn't fully develop the entire cast. I had some basic info, such as their 'job' at the estate and a few personality points, but that was it. So this time around, I want to flesh them out and have them be less two-dimensional.

• Reworking the Plot and Script

Idris' route, as it currently stands, is unedited. Certain scenes could stand to be rewritten, as well as creating a better outline. The concept has a lot of potential that I earnestly wish to explore, that hadn't been in the original. Having a developed cast will also help with deciding major plot points. 

So yes, development will continue! 

I will be seeking out new team members, such as the sensitivity readers and a programmer, so I can focus entirely on writing. There will also be music and SFX this time.

At this point in time I can't say when this will be done, but I will be making progress on Renascent Blood more frequently.  I may simultaneously work on this and another project, as I have a penchant for joining jams. They help me with motivation as well as accountability.
